This is how space begins, with words only, signs traced on the blank page #Aleph is a natural place to start. Spontaneous Alphabet started as a new typeface, which broke apart the letterforms into essential building blocks, and then restored it with restraint to its essential components. Inspired by 1960’s abstract typography, the font became an exercise in 26 letters and the foundation of this new artist’s book. Designed and printed while Artist/Researcher in Residence at AGA Lab and Rijksmuseum Library in Amsterdam, the publication was produced spontaneously in situ, content collected each day, printed every evening on the Risograph as an improvisational #nocturnal print project. This typographical journey is an exploration of color and playful design, with french folded pages and wraparound illustrations. Each letter begets an alternative NATO phonetic alphabet, designated as a #hashtag, using A-Z to create it’s own poetry generating algorithm. The permeations of wordplay are enclosed in a hidden bookmark, a nod to David Bowie’s lyric writing application, and the full alphabet appears as a key in the fold out screen printed poster. Domino Dance is an exploration into Miami's dance culture. The images are sourced from HistoryMiami Museum and reflect all the "dance" that is documented in their archive files. The quantity became so great that three volumes were created.

Orange Oratory was inspired by a 1939 Miami Herald article announcing the opening of the 27th Avenue Bridge over the Miami River. Headlined “Fruit Juice and Oratory to Feature Span Opening,” the article detailed organizers’ choice of fresh-squeezed orange juice—a signature South Florida thirst quencher—to toast the new architectural landmark with city officials and the Miami community. The original Bridge Tender House was acquired by the Wolfsonian—FIU in the 1980s and is now installed at the front of the museum. After going through the Wolfsonian archives, I appointed items that don't normally appear on view to the public to highlight the unusual and eclectic nature of the Wolfsonian collection. The selected pieces thematically link to the color orange; South Florida's history as an exotic, tropical, tourist destination; and the citrus industry. While working with designer Richard Massey in creating this artist book, the pieces have been organized using an algorithm dictated by the orange color spectrum, accompanied by stimulating captions with occasionally disruptive content.

Published to complement her solo exhibition at Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Dance Instructions is a step by step guide on how the audience can activate the sculptures with movement. The booklet begins "Think about your body and the shape it makes in space" and directs the viewer through a range of motions that serves to emphasize the idea that dance is living architecture. In(k) Process documents the progression of In Process, a collaborative interactive art installation created for the de la Cruz Collection project space. A temporary screen printing shop was installed on site and a group of students from the little Haiti Cultural Complex were invited to participate in workshops to produce a new body of work in response to the environment. After the exhibition was complete, all of the equipment was donated to the Cultural Complex. The book and font were designed by Studio Hello Gusto, and each copy of the book has a hand screen printed cover, making this a unique piece of art in its own right.

This zine is a slightly altered facsimile copy of a book I discovered in James Deering's personal library. The leather embossed book was a gift from his interior designer and provided translations of all of the texts that are buried within the architecture of the estate, thus shedding light on some of the personal mottos of Deering. I distribute the zine for free on random occasions at Vizcaya.

FEEL THE EDGES is a zine which was created for the UNTITLED art fair, design by Edau with letterpress embossment done at IS Projects, in a limited edition of 100.
