EXILE Books is an experimental art installation which designates a public space for the community to gather and celebrate artist’s books and printed matter. Founded by Amanda Keeley in 2014, EXILE started as a pop up store that traveled to over 20 locations in Miami in three years. EXILE’s namesake is because of the project’s roving nomadic nature. This mobile artist’s bookstore was designed to be adaptable to each space, referencing Donald Judd’s minimalist cube sculptures meets the Memphis Group, but as a band on tour. EXILE has finally settled into Little Haiti, where the studio and the shop are now reunited in tropical harmony.
